Tradición y celebración en Pontedeume

Every September, Pontedeume dresses up to celebrate the traditional Pears Festas, a holiday that dates back to the nineteenth century and honors the Virgin of the Virtues and San Nicolás de Tolentino, Patrons of the Villa.

For six days, from September 6 to 11 , the municipality lives a unique environment where devotion, culture and fun is mixed.

Among the most outstanding activities, the momaros, giant figures that travel the streets, mark the beginning of the celebrations full of color and joy. Every morning, alborals and fireworks welcome a new festive day, while solemn masses and processions gather the community to pay tribute to their employers.

Music and dance are not lacking in concerts and verbenas, where various orchestras encourage festive nights. In addition, recreational and sports activities are organized for all ages, from competitions to exhibitions, ideal to enjoy with family or friends.

The markets and fairs complete the experience, offering local products and typical crafts of the region, perfect for carrying a memory of these special parties.

The Festas Das Pears are, without a doubt, an opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of Pontedeume, savor its gastronomy and enjoy a program full of emotions for all audiences.
